Limited Edition n. 12
70 years in three coffee tins
Our newest Limited Edition has arrived: a 12th special collection that celebrates our 70th birthday. Once again, this year we have chosen Alex Miles as the illustrator of our coffee tins, available from 20 March. The Australian artist is also the author of our 2018 Calendar, where some of the family photos were reinterpreted. The ones of February, June and December are also the protagonists of our new coffee tins.
The tradition of the Limited Edition started in 2006 and this year the design is characterized by bright colors, pop-art graphics and the Ben-Day dots painting process. In the foreground we can see three black and white pictures that represent the story of the coffee company.
“The first tin – states Paola Goppion, our Chief Marketing Officer – is dedicated to Angelo Goppion, the company founder, photographed in Addis Abeda in 1936, after the military campaign and at the beginning of his activity as a bartender. The coffee machine portrayed by his side is one of the first coffee machines ever made: it was a revolutionary system that would transform the way of drinking coffee all over the world. The photo was taken in Ethiopia, where one of the best coffees of the world grows. Our story begins right there. Angelo, once settled down in Italy, founded the Goppion Coffee Company in Treviso with his brothers.
The other two tins of the 12th Limited Edition depict the first coffee tin produced by Goppion in 1960 together with the Trevigiana Caffè trademark and a portrayal of Piazza dei Signori, our homage to Treviso, and an advertisement of 1962.
The three Limited Edition tins will be available on our online shop, cafés and bars from 20th March. The blend is composed by 100% selected Arabica coffee. Ethiopia Sidamo, in particular, aromatizes this blend of high quality with a fruity, floral and chocolaty taste. A coffee from a faraway land, where the story of our company started.
