Quality at the core of our mission

The uniformity of a batch is an essential property to create blends with refined aromatic characteristics.

In any case coffee must be perfect at the origin
and then perfectly roasted

                                                           Sergio Goppion

Over the last decades we have joined disciplines that are guarantees, the symbol of our determination to work in a certain way.    A workstyle and a lifestyle that we have chosen from the very beginning.

Everything started from the Torrefattori Triveneto Group, which we became a member of in 1954. It represented an effort to create a team, exchange opinions and suggestions with colleagues of the world of coffee, to grow all together towards the quality that the Italian consumer demands. Angelo Goppion was the President from 1960 to 1972 and later his son Sergio as well from 1990 to 2004.

More than 30 years ago, there was the first meeting between Fairtrade and us: at first, we gladly embraced their values simply as private label roasters. Later, we created our own Fairtrade product, Nativo: a good coffee in all senses.

We thought that was not enough so in 1996 we decided to take part in the creation of CSC®. This consortium identifies and certifies some very high quality products, traceable along the chain that goes from the plantations to the cup. It also promotes the knowledge of the world of coffee.

Our desire to improve ourselves led us in the world of FSSC 22000 in 2016, in order to certify our production processes and to guarantee food safety along the supply chain.

We are also members of: SCA, the most important Specialty Coffee Association for all the stages in coffee production; Comitato Italiano Caffè, an important Italian coffee union that brings together the most important Italian Roasters.    But especially we are founding members of the Consortium for the safeguard of traditional Italian Espresso Coffee, with Sergio Goppion as Vice-President. The Consortium’s goal is to have the Italian Espresso coffee added on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.   An ambitious objective that we believe we can reach to see Italian creativity, also in the coffee industry, acknowledged all over the world.

Since 2016 Goppion certifies its production system with the FSSC 22000 – Food Safety System Certification Scheme 22000.
This certification scheme was developed by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification to certify food production organizations; its aim is to standardize certification requirements and methods to obtain safety systems in the production chain.

CSC® – Certified Speciality Coffee – is an association founded in 1996 from the expertise and passion of a group of Coffee Roaster, aimed at promoting the culture of quality coffee. The Consortium applies a number of procedures that have been conceived to obtain accurate and proved quality standards for the whole coffee production cycle.

The FAIRTRADE trademark, created in 2002, brings together all the fair trade initiatives and is today the most ethical certification in the world. It ensures that producers are paid a fair price that is stable and independent from market fluctuations and an additional Fairtrade Premium that can be invested for the development of the community.
