Coffee houses

A GOOD BEGINNING
FOR YOUR DAY,
AT GOPPION COFFEE HOUSES

A Goppion Café is a welcoming place, where it is a pleasure to start the day and come back later to meet up with colleagues and friends and take a break.

GOPPION COFFEE HOUSES. THE HEART OF THE CITY.

On 29 December 1720, Floriano Francesconi inaugurated what would be the first café in the world, in Piazza San Marco in Venice. He named it Alla Venezia Trionfante, but it soon became Caffè Florian, from the name of the owner pronounced in the Venetian dialect (Florian). From that moment on, cafés spread all over the world, quickly becoming favourite meeting places for artists and intellectuals, but also for ordinary people, eager to get a moment to dedicate to themselves accompanied by a cup of coffee.

In our coffee houses we have always been inspired by this all-Italian concept of hospitality, which puts customers’ needs first and aims at making them feel at ease, just like at home. Care and precision in customer service, the careful selection of the proposed blends and of the food we offer are for us a constant and essential goal, which leads us to improve day by day in order to provide the best possible experience.

“Start the day with a good coffee and a smile”

The first Goppion coffee house opened in Treviso, in 1949, in the main street of the centre where it is still found today. In the back of the shop, the coffee is roasted and then tasted and sold in bulk in the main rooms. From production to sale, in a few steps. This place was also the beginning of our history as roasters. Its welcoming and hospitable atmosphere conveyed by the scent of delicious, steaming coffee became a model for the cafés in Venice and in other locations that would open in the following years.
The coffee ritual is an established habit, both for the pure pleasure of a good espresso and as an essential ingredient for a break or a meeting. Coffee is presented with a smile and embodies a typically Italian tradition.

In 2008 the concept of hospitality behind Goppion coffee houses was revisited, making them a place for coffee but also a space that speaks of our corporate culture and set of values, representing our principles and choices in a decor characterized by wood and materials in natural tones that recall the original shades of coffee beans.

The new concept inspired the cafés in Padua, Milan, Castelfranco Veneto, the Corner at the Bottega dei Sapori at Venice airport, and the renovation of our store in Belluno.
