WHERE EVERYTHING STARTED

Goppion, with other ten Coffee Roasters, is part of CSC® – Certified Speciality Coffee – since 1996.
This Association was established thanks to the expertise and determination of its members who intend to find top quality coffees all around the world. CSC® aims at raising awareness and promoting the culture of quality coffee, thus strengthening the value of the selection, a legacy of the history of these Coffee Roasters.
After frequent travels to the plantations and meetings with their producers, CSC® has selected thirty plantations worldwide; its member Coffee Roasters can purchase from these plantations based on their taste to then create their own blend or valuable Single Origins.

Among these rolling hills turning into mountains, between 1,600 and 2,000 mt. above sea level, completely covered in a lush vegetation, a bright green forest, there are small coffee plantations, sometimes so tiny that they are named Coffee Gardens.  It is the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange to manage all of the coffee trade in the country.  CSC® through its research has been able to guarantee a fine selection of coffees. Small local producers grow their coffees and once they harvest then, they bring the harvest at washing stations where they are processed.
Abdullah Bagersh, the owner of the washing station, represents the third generation of a Yemenite family. His history and knowledge in coffee cupping have turned him into an important reference point for this coffee certified by CSC®.
Small local producers bring their coffee at his stations where it is processed, cup tasted and classified.
CSC® has established an important relationship with him for the production of coffees featuring increasingly fine and unique flavors.
This is one of the finest coffees in the world.
We really love it because of its distinctive aroma that makes it good, rich, rounded even when drunk alone and not in a blend.  It is a superb Arabica coffee thanks to its citrus and chocolate notes.
Moreover its fine acidity and flowery notes perfectly come together.
